Welcome back! By now, you should be being affiliated with the capabilities of your software. We have discussed Noise Gates and Effects to help the overall production of your project. In today’s episode, I will explain to you the basic set up and display for arming an audio track. Despite what many may say is confusing, getting ready to record is simple. To begin, first make sure whatever mobile interface you are using is plugged in to your laptop or desktop firmly and correct. From there, open your recording music software of choice (Logic Pro, Acid, Reason, FL Studios, Pro Tools, or Abelton). In your menu options tab at the top or on the side of the window search for audio input. Once you locate this, enable the interface that you plugged in prior to the session. Be sure to note whether the interface is picking up the signal from your voice. Test it! Talk into the mic as you look at the signal peak in the program. If you see and or notice sound waves in the volume levels, you are good. If not, there is a problem and you may need to download and or install the software associated to the interface. Once all of this is complete, simply add or and audio track. The audio track should be synced to the interface and from there simply click the red record button. The record button can be found in the track that you created or in the top of the menu. You will know whether or not the track selected is recording if you see the red button illuminated and frequency waves in the track. If this is not working for you try to restart, the application and re try the process. I hope that this works for you and puts you on your way to add vocals in addition to different effects.
