Project 3 Proposal

Image
For this particular project, I’m going to do a little out of the box. I intend to gather a couple people depending on the weather circumstances, or randomly ask people and create a real life runway. Music will be playing as I project a display on a wall either on campus or somewhere out in about.. My hopes in doing this is to either get great poses of each person or the people walking through. This will be my idea of an interactive runway, where people get the opportunity to pick a  song to dance or pose to.    Me doing this project  brings  allows people to engage in something completely random, but still have the ability to express themselves however. I expect people to be cool, chill, and excited about it, and for those who wont know exactly what's going on, it will make it so much more better. The suspense of not knowing what the projection is behind them will probably drive them crazy, however that's all in hopes of making people smile and allowing them the freedom to

Project 2 Final Update (Madmapper)/ Artist Statement

Image
My video files are way to huge to include into this message, however the videos are done and completely projected in mad mapper. Here is what it's looking like. Marcus Goss       Artist Statement FMX 463 Multimedia Installation "Good Kid, Great City" The cities are bright, the clouds are brighter. The chapters continue, the laughter inspires. Inspire to be iconic Or mosey through the shadows The sunrises everyday It gives us the ladder.

Project 2 Update

Image
Here is a basic view of what my projection should look like, from this setup, the city scape will be projected on to a black canvas(wall). The light illuminating behind it is to add feeling, emotion, and texture, to what is already in place. At different angles, I intend to project from the ground and display the video directly above the projection of my hand crafted 'city". Forgot to update my blog prior to this but, here is a preview

Project 2 Update

Image
I completely forgot to post the progress and updates of my project, however here is an illustration of what i am doing. Not in full detail. (if i showed you everything it be pointless. However here are the buildings of the city-scape that i have constructed primarily with cardboard. The  plot twist, each building will be engulfed in a different type of material to express the differences of the world. Not noted in the pictures, but the buildings will be in the upward position, either held together by superglue, or even better by supporting back pieces. The intentions with that are to get little candle lights and place them strategically behind them, to give it a city vibe. The sole purpose of the project is to convey to the communities, that life is what you make it, and where you end up is completely up to you. The buildings represent different entities that ultimately put you in better place to succeed and excel in life. The different, textures and patterns that i include will re

Chapter 4 (Activated Spect..)

This particular chapter ties relatively close into the last one. More so instead of grasping and grabbing the attention of viewers, but now so addressing to them/ and engaging with. How politics and art coincide, is still a mystery I've yet to solve. Interestingly, the inclusion of politics can be important in audience attention, but how it influences art is weird. Politics typically agree or disagree, and from that i kind of tide that into artist having different visions, ultimately either objecting to a bad idea or concurring with a good one. Essential politics are a topic of relevancy in all communities. It's important to know what's going on around you in society and being an artist, wanting to capture the attention of your audience of your viewers, I suppose a little spill or conversation about politics is rightfully acceptable. Why because it engages other factors of what may or may of not influence specific art-forms. Different elements and ideas i

Progress Update (1)

Here is the idea I'm going with. Not so much the architecture of what is being displayed, but the idea and structural concept. I plan on constructing the skyline, within the borders of what the glass mirrors reflect. ( Not using glass).   The substitution for the wood will be either a black curtain canvas and from there, I have to find a cool material and or elements to represent the skyline of a city night life. I will be cutting out some fabrics and possibly incorporating actual cardboard with the material cutout, to give the piece added elements that entice the viewers.

Artist Research-(Sabrina Ratte')

Image
Sabrina Ratte', a native of Quebec City, Canada and a constant commuter to nearby Montreal. With a traditional Film and Production background, he majority of her work is center around videography to include video synthesizers, feedback, and analog technologies. With a compelling list of exhibits and events that she has participated in and both been apart of, her new art has full integration of 3D animation, giving her images and videos, trippy vibes/ exquisitely complex aesthetics. Heavy on animation and 3D she explores the fine-print of virtual animation.   (I like this particular art piece, simply because it gives off older R & B Music video vibes. Looking at and embracing it, Janet Jackson and Michael Jacksons older music video looks like this could have been their set.) Known primarily for eye catching visuals, her work includes amazing videos, sculptures, and more.  Her work can be found in a Gallery in Paris, and a place known as

Chapter 3

Interestingly, the chapter talks about the concept of darkness. The being in the dark has it's own influences on people, contrary to belief. I did however like the mention s the chapter progressed about how it goes more into the philosophical aspect of being in the dark. Not exactly word for word, but essentially what i got from this chapter is that one secluded in darkness- completely encompasses the attitude of darkness. The chapter did a great job of relaying the concept, that in the dark you are the dark, and movements are much fluent, but seamlessly free. Being able to connect to your audience directly by visual, audio, or role play dynamics, is all was a key factor in capturing your audience. By it being dark, the audience is in suspense initially, until the lights appear and take the crowd by awe . I think that its a great concept for artist to explore and experiment with, because the cliche's of having light, are to me overrated in instance
