As things continue to change so do the way in which we use them. The new innovation of touch screens are more compelling to people and have propelled lifestyles in numerous ways. Influenced by things such as touch pads; found on laptops, touch-screen; often found as an additional feature on iPads, Kindles, and some Television. Times have changed significantly. Yes TV’s are now becoming accessible with touch screen sensitivity. Dating back there isn’t an exact form of technology that influences the touch screen we see today. However, the Palm Pilot was probably the closest thing to what we see in regards to touch-screen capabilities.
Technology is currently at a state of constant evolution and the way to the future is by touch. A good example of a technological creation from back then, that resembles some of the things we see today as mentioned is the Palm Pilot. This particular creation paved away for smaller gadgets, widgets, gaming systems, telephones, and more. The compact nature of the size may differ from then to now, but it’s what we saw then, as our new now. More specifically, the palm Pilot is a hand held device that people use specifically with business intentions. It’s a (n) quick and easy way of sending emails and or coordinating amongst business groups, leisure groups, community groups, and more. The Palm Pilot first launched and became a thing back in the early months of March 1997. Accessible with a stylist, upgrade kits were also available for purchase.

A brief history about touchscreen date back to decades ago. The firs considered finger driven touch screen was said and known to have been invented by E.A. Johnson in March 1965. Johnson, a pioneer and innovator at the same time, originally described the work as a type of touchscreen mechanism that many smartphone users apply and use in everyday settings that we see today. Games, live-streams, videos, pictures, emailing, business, the list goes on. More so, as the years progressed the creation by Johnson was further expanded through technology with photography inclusion and diagram displays. The expansions came at the later years of the 1960’s time period.
This particular technological advancement is and will continue to influence things of our future to come. Surprisingly, the trend of touch screen capability has already made a worldwide epidemic. More so notable in China, the U.S. is the next country to go through a digital revolution again. What it will include is way too broad to explain in detail, but the incorporation of touch tone capabilities will be prevalent. As the future continues to present new opportunity, new creation and more. Being able to do everything by the swipe and or touch of your fingertips is the way in which a majority of things will be controlled. Touch sensitive fountain machines at restaurants, touch screen clothing display catalogs, touch screen credit & debit card checkout, touch screen hotel reservations, touch sensitivity speaker pairing, and more, are all of the many thing that the future has to offer. A breakdown of the evolution in my opinion and looking at the evidence backed by logical knowledge; the Palm Pilot- once used for business is now the iPad now used for leisure/ gaming, the iPad to will soon evolve into a new creation, what specifically we don’t know but something epic that will swarm the societies of populations all over.

Performing Art Piece w/ Malia

The performing art piece I chose to do with my partner Malia B. was one that should inspire many. At first I had no idea of what I wanted to do. I thought about a music video, but how can I be apart of a performance and put a twist on it. Thus, forth I decided to seek a partner or partners. In class me and Malia coordinated amongst ourselves when we meet. We met here on campus in the Music Department in the instrument portion of the building. I coordinated with an old professor about performing and getting together a group of students to join us. (2D)Pacman Grid Art (Marcus G)

For my Grid Art project I took a different approach. I wanted to capture multiple elements of art in one project, thus I incorporated different aspects of art. I thought to myself, what will capture the visual aesthetics of other humans and their artistic vision. From U]T, to my house (all over), to the backyard, to the beach, in my room, I used the traditional grid of a cardboard box. Made with glitter. (This is the actual picture that inspired the art) My grid art project was inspired by my love for retro video games. I've always enjoyed older games like Pacman, Mariokart, Megaman, and more.
