Performing Art Piece w/ Malia

The performing art piece I chose to do with my partner Malia B. was one that should inspire many. At first I had no idea of what I wanted to do. I thought about a music video, but how can I be apart of a performance and put a twist on it. Thus, forth I decided to seek a partner or partners. In class me and Malia coordinated amongst ourselves when we meet. We met here on campus in the Music Department in the instrument portion of the building. I coordinated with an old professor about performing and getting together a group of students to join us. Inspired also by a famous producer know as TheGoat 808, he has challenge that you say or yell, "How you gunna be a GOAT and you don't GO OUT AND TRY!"

Got it, easy pickings. Once figured the first portion out of what we were going to do, I pitched the idea to Malia and the rest........ well the rest you can watch here:

*The camera angle cut Malia off sitting off to the right of the camera.... LOL and we didn't even notice because I was to busy setting up and getting everything in motion. I set my iPad with the use of technology on a music stand and shot the video hands free for the both of us. I KNOW it's a bummer...... However the piece in itself was outstandingly fun, we both enjoyed it. One of my old professors consulted his former students and set up a time to meet on Monday and the rest was history. Performing art is an art that a lot of people are shy of and shy away from. However, with our project I gave a brief speech and said " have fun, don't even worry about the camera. Let's just have FUN!" The class was on board, my former professor was on board, and Malia was on board so we constructed a piece of it's own. Malia unfamiliar of the class opted not to do a solo, but YOU KNOW YA BOY HAD To GROOVE ONE TIME. I hope you enjoy the short piece we constructed. Drums RULE THE WORLD.https://youtu.be/-Ff6n6zcFEI

  1. This was so cool and really nice to listen to. I like how you took over in the beginning to get the people involved.

  2. This reminds me of when I used to be in this class last semester. Good for you for doing a drum solo I was always to nervous to try and do it on my own, and the performance was great.
