Artist: Masaki Fujihata

Born: Tokyo 1956

Favorite Art Piece:  “Voices of Aliveness” the ability to bridge real space, cyberspace, or and the network space. The main focus is to express your life, our aliveness;
Overall take from it is how we can make a collective collage of  digital memories.

Surprisingly, this is a random pic of artist, however a very solid individual. Fujihata’s works infused the idea of the newer technologies in correlation to interactive arts, v/r, and networking. Fujihata focused on seeing the essential importance of the specific art pieces and its construction. Intrigued by humans and their ability to communicate with others, was a fundamental area of focus. perception and awareness are 2 of the primary ideas and concepts that he keened on and grew inspiration through his art. Influenced heavily on the origins of his birth, he has received numerous awards, notably his award from the Ministry of Education in the Art Encouragement Prizes.

Performing Art Piece w/ Malia

The performing art piece I chose to do with my partner Malia B. was one that should inspire many. At first I had no idea of what I wanted to do. I thought about a music video, but how can I be apart of a performance and put a twist on it. Thus, forth I decided to seek a partner or partners. In class me and Malia coordinated amongst ourselves when we meet. We met here on campus in the Music Department in the instrument portion of the building. I coordinated with an old professor about performing and getting together a group of students to join us. Inspired also by a famous producer know as TheGoat 808, he has challenge that you say or yell, "How you gunna be a GOAT and you don't GO OUT AND TRY!" Got it, easy pickings. (2D)Pacman Grid Art (Marcus G)

For my Grid Art project I took a different approach. I wanted to capture multiple elements of art in one project, thus I incorporated different aspects of art. I thought to myself, what will capture the visual aesthetics of other humans and their artistic vision. From U]T, to my house (all over), to the backyard, to the beach, in my room, I used the traditional grid of a cardboard box. Made with glitter. (This is the actual picture that inspired the art) My grid art project was inspired by my love for retro video games. I've always enjoyed older games like Pacman, Mariokart, Megaman, and more. So with this project I decided to change the elements and leave people in ahh. As appose to constructing a piece via grid (insertables) I chose to go a different. For my project I used a traditional grid from a bedframe box.. Yes I know, not average. However, the (box) bedframe was the base of my project.
