Progress Report #3

 
Here's an update as to what i did yesterday. Wrapping up the lose ends and perfecting the craft of sketching "Bu", i made my way to a store located in Soho named "Paper Source.: From there i did a little browse on some of the art items i could use to make the banner. In luck, i found paper and art supplies that will compliment the banner back drop for my final performance.

 Here is a quick preview of the process of creating cutting, gluing, applying glitter.... Yeah you get the point. It wasn't to hard, but it was tedious.




Here's what the sketch is looking like so far. I plan on wrapping up and purchasing more necessities to fill in for what you see. This is the banner, created from scratch. It's probably bigger then your average human girth. Hanging from the ceiling of the black-box, it will be displayed slightly over my head, as i create the environment of a live show.

Performing Art Piece w/ Malia

The performing art piece I chose to do with my partner Malia B. was one that should inspire many. At first I had no idea of what I wanted to do. I thought about a music video, but how can I be apart of a performance and put a twist on it. Thus, forth I decided to seek a partner or partners. In class me and Malia coordinated amongst ourselves when we meet. We met here on campus in the Music Department in the instrument portion of the building. I coordinated with an old professor about performing and getting together a group of students to join us. Inspired also by a famous producer know as TheGoat 808, he has challenge that you say or yell, "How you gunna be a GOAT and you don't GO OUT AND TRY!" Got it, easy pickings. (2D)Pacman Grid Art (Marcus G)

For my Grid Art project I took a different approach. I wanted to capture multiple elements of art in one project, thus I incorporated different aspects of art. I thought to myself, what will capture the visual aesthetics of other humans and their artistic vision. From U]T, to my house (all over), to the backyard, to the beach, in my room, I used the traditional grid of a cardboard box. Made with glitter. (This is the actual picture that inspired the art) My grid art project was inspired by my love for retro video games. I've always enjoyed older games like Pacman, Mariokart, Megaman, and more.
