Individual Creations (Final Images)

Image
For my the images you see, portrayed are different art abstractions. The soul intention of the pictures are to "think freely and perceive as one intellectually feels." Within the photos you will find different abstractions, different textures, different presentations, and a wide variety of colors. All of these elements were a central focus of the piece, to capture the essence and allow the viewers to decipher and categorize as one feels. The inspiration for the project was drawn from a famous street photographer known as Bansky, who's illustrated artworks are found in various regions and locations throughout the world. Though his process is a tad more organic in creation, (hands on) the pictures are to express through art and abstraction, resulting in some sort of emotion, feeling, or mood.

Progress Images

So here is a brief collage of what i intend to reshoot at multiple locations throughout the St. Pete and Tampa area. As i mentioned, i have been extremely busy but for the sake of the assignment and so you can see progress here are a few photos to reference. (Excuse the tardiness)

Digital II (Proposal) Final Project

Image
Imagine being able to capture a world in front of you. Imagine living without color, more noticeably; being able to understand the misconceptions & conceptions of art more intuitively. Art is disbursed at a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colors, ideas, and more. More times then none, there are different types of art. Contemporary, Conservative, Vivid, etc. Have you ever wondered around, through a day, and noticed something that stimulates your brain cells, your mind to think/ work harder in understanding the true value of creative sensation? Ever notice words or writing's, pictures, or murals, re-creates, etc. Behind all of the things seen within our universe, there's a capable artist, or multiple artist. Artistic overlap, word-based, artistic infusion of familiarity presented through images. Figurative combinations meant to be collaborative. yet no one is here to explain what to see. Bansky a very confidential street artist in relations to his identity, influenti...

Final Artist Statement

The cities are bright, the clouds are brighter. The chapters continue, the laughter inspires. Your craft is you Your past desires The inspiration you deserve From pinnacles of flyer The sun is set The mood is to Are you living for them Or living for you From different states To different plates All motivation For being great. Inspire to be iconic Or mosey through the shadows The sunrises everyday It gives us the ladder. Creation is art Art is creation The feeling of greatness Such a beautiful sensation

Final Instructions

In order to make this installation functional you must first ensure there is ample amount of room spacing suited and geared for a big audience, you must then account and take into consideration how many chairs you think would be suitable for the occasion. With that in mind, arrange the chairs in an orderly fashion, as if watching an improv comedy show. To ensure the proper lightning for the designation, a switch board is essential for the overhead lighting. When utilizing the switch board which controls the lights (brightness), be sure to find and or make custom light settings with the slider knobs suitable , to capture the ambiance of the stage. The project in itself can take up an entire 2 door garage space wise.  So the more space the better.   Keep in mind, you must accommodate for the unexpected audience size and factor in the walking space for the artist or artists. Once the lights are at a setting of comfort, the chairs are setup for the audience, and the space is a...

Final Project

For this project, going beyond the means and thinking completely outside of the box, was a given. I thought to myself, how can I, as an artist integrate and embellish and element of real life. Well for one, I thought to one of my strengths in music. Awww yesss. That’s it! From there I center the focal point of my project around true artistry. Multiple reasons go into why I made this specific project. The project to me represents a state of mind where I am at, in the foreseeable future. I want to give off the persona of a poet, incorporating the art of a music artist, displaying his talent in front of fans (crowd.) For this project, my ideal mindset going into it, is to keep people in suspense as to what is going. Sitting down and or pacing around, I will gather the courage and recite a life story of mine. Complimented by a musical piece that I create, I will rhythmically recite a short-spoken word, rather minuet song. The song itself or poem itself means a lot to me, because ...

Progress Report #4

Image
Here is a glimpse at the art supplies created to make King Boo. Boo will be the banner on display during the performance.   This is the most pivotal asset of the presentation. As a New Media Production Major I have access to the studio here on campus and was able to persuade Dr. B. This is the microphone and Amp that will be present, as the projection for my voice.

Progress Report #3

Image
Here's an update as to what i did yesterday. Wrapping up the lose ends and perfecting the craft of sketching "Bu", i made my way to a store located in Soho named "Paper Source.: From there i did a little browse on some of the art items i could use to make the banner. In luck, i found paper and art supplies that will compliment the banner back drop for my final performance.  Here is a quick preview of the process of creating cutting, gluing, applying glitter.... Yeah you get the point. It wasn't to hard, but it was tedious. Here's what the sketch is looking like so far. I plan on wrapping up and purchasing more necessities to fill in for what you see. This is the banner, created from scratch. It's probably bigger then your average human girth. Hanging from the ceiling of the black-box, it will be displayed slightly over my head, as i create the environment of a live show.

Progress Report #2

Image
Progression on this project has been incredible. As noted above, here is an example of what the actual poster banner for my backdrop will look like. I took the time to practice drawing and constructing everything from scratch. Despite this image being a darker boo, unfortunately at the store, during the time there were no more bigger pieces of art material to reflect the same color. So I may have to go with a traditional white. The banner itself will be bigger then the average human body.   This is a template for me to build on and over this weekend. I will be finishing the final banner to hang and drape as I perform a spoken word.   ** The audio track for this is complete, but as of now I am choosing between one of two instrumentations that I have constructed from scratch**   Practicing today, I will recite and rehearse the spoken word. The footage for it will be taken during class and later uploaded to the site, to give you a feel of how the oper...

Progress Report #1

Image
he above picture is the pre process of what the final performance will look like. Despite the Camera being directly in the front, i will have my camera set up behind the audience in a similar like position. Accompanying each guest chair, will be a complimentary beverage (undecided) and a snack refreshment or the duration of the spoken word. Here is an image of the spotlight setup. I messed around with a couple of settings in my adventures and found the correct lightning that i want, illustrated in the above picture. I will use this as a legend key when do the actual performance to set an ambiance of being on the stage. The sole intention of the project is to project "One's Self-Individuality." I will express this by having an instrumentation, constructed from scratch; being played and mixed by none other then our own "Dj Joey Jam." He will be in the back and the music levels and volumes will be controlled by him, with the speakers provided in the black...

Yayo Kusama Room

Image
Everyday there is a new opportunity for exponential growth in life. Different opportunities, different views and views. Over the break I had a chance to visit a very special experiment in the Kusama exhibit, located downtown in the Art Museum of Tampa. The experience in itself was everything more than expected. During my visitation, I took the time to study a few different things In relation to the artist. Me as an artist, I took meaningful insight on more then just the exhibit, I took special note of the art display, the poem and meaning of the words, and essentially the overall experience. A few things I noticed immediately about the artist prior to entering the exhibit, were the meaningful words behind the inspiration of the art. The display and fashion in which the art was presented, and most importantly the art. My experience broken down was more then what I personally expected. Entering the museum, I knew the connotations associated with Art Museums, so cognizant...

Final Artist Research (Heather Hart)

Image
All good things must come to an end, and Heather Hart is the last and final artist i will be reviewing for the semester "Ocular Rooftop Experience and Judgement"   "My work explores nostalgic futurism, amalgams of distorted traditions and symbols, handed down and mashed-up to fit our prospective needs. My works are meant to expand with public programing and viewer activation. I am interested in not only creating site-specific miniminal space for personal reclamation but also in questioning dominant narratives and creating alternatives to them."   Picking one installation by this artist, the above." This particular piece intrigued and grabbed my attention for several reasons. The art put into it, the presentation, and the subtle colors.  I found it interesting that she incorporated the themes that she typically associates her art with. Her theme being "rooftops". More so, i took away alot of meaning from this drawing. Initially, i thoug...

Final Project

Image
Greetings, It's been a fun ride and making it to the end of the semester is always great right? Well in this case yes. I've enjoyed the ability to learn and comprehend how to use projection mapping, that for my final project, I've decided to do something incorporating such. For the last and final project, i intend on recreating my logo artistically and using some sort of projection mapping in a confined space of the Black-box. With that being said, i haven't wrapped my fingers around the exact details of whether or not i would like to perform. If i do decide to perform i will be constructing a poem or a song, to openly express my love for music and art in general. A music video including projection mapping isn't all the way out of the ruling however, i'm still in a limbo as far as what song i would want to perform. Given no constraints, i will be trying to incorporate as much stuff pertaining to music. However the art side of things, everything will ...

Project 3 Final (HavocWorld)

Image
For this project, I decided to work individually. I've chose to re-create a red carpet/ interactive runway, that engages all people no matter age, race, or ethnicity, to freely express themselves. The project itself, was done intentionally by myself, to exploit and utilize and put forth the meaning of togetherness. There will be a fashion show theme, minus smoke (smoke Detectors), and cool ambiance, of lights and incorporated colors (Blackbox). From there, I will check in the fashion models for the day, as if it are a real fashion show. At the front door you will wait in the lobby or in the classroom in the order that you decide. 1)You will check in with me @ the Blackbox. You will give me your full name and a title of a song that best describes you. This is pivotal because essentially, each participant in the class will walk the "stage" and express themselves however they want. 2) Once you have walked the strip and taken a minimum of 2 photos. You have ...

Project 3 (Progress Update)

Image
This What the stage setup will be for everyone in class to fully pic one song of choice, 30 secs, pose for the camera and do there runway strut type deal. All the chairs will be aligned as if it were a runway, with the projection installation on the back portion of the wall, or a curtain or canvas that i purchase. The students will start from the opposite side of the stage and pic This will be the interactive backdrop for the entire shoot, looping. Or the one under. Im kind of torn between two, but essentially one of these will be the back drop. I will be acting as a live photographer. So active participation is required from the class in entirety.

Artist Research (Mel Chin)

Image
Picking one installation by this artist, I had to go with the “Sea to See." This particular piece intrigued and grabbed my attention because it dealt with the underworld life of water. The worked focused on oceans which was the median of connection for the installation. It was amazing to see how the artist created an environment of an aquarium more so, the depth's of the oceans. For me a was a refreshing piece, that was simple, that gave a cinematic feel of being underwater. Interestingly, the art itself has substantial meaning and purpose. The collaborative efforts of Chin and others focus, was to present ocean transformation of 100 years plus. Initially, i had no clue as for what, but apparently the purpose is t convey the impact of human constructions (IE: canals, bridges, pass-ways) and there effects on the ecology of the oceans. Digitized data visualization were incorporated as well. Real facts. The ability to create a visually pleasing and soothing environment was c...

Project 3 Proposal

Image
For this particular project, I’m going to do a little out of the box. I intend to gather a couple people depending on the weather circumstances, or randomly ask people and create a real life runway. Music will be playing as I project a display on a wall either on campus or somewhere out in about.. My hopes in doing this is to either get great poses of each person or the people walking through. This will be my idea of an interactive runway, where people get the opportunity to pick a  song to dance or pose to.    Me doing this project  brings  allows people to engage in something completely random, but still have the ability to express themselves however. I expect people to be cool, chill, and excited about it, and for those who wont know exactly what's going on, it will make it so much more better. The suspense of not knowing what the projection is behind them will probably drive them crazy, however that's all in hopes of making people smile and al...
